Refinishing Furniture

After years of wear and tear from children and pets, I decided to get my very worn desk, dining table and kitchen chairs re-finished. I contacted Touch Ups Plus and am so glad I did. Communication was excellent. Lynn kept me up to date re timing, and spent a lot of time with me explaining the different finish options. The result was even better. Everything looks better than it did originally - and in particular, what Touch Ups Plus was able to do with my badly scratched desk is amazing. I would definitely use them again and highly, highly recommend.

Queen Anne Desk Restoration

I needed to have my Queen Anne desk restored. Found Lynn, Mark and Mike here on Homestars. The quality of work done is exceptional. Additionally, dealing with Lynn and Mark was always a pleasure. They were professional and their communication was excellent throughout the whole process. I felt as if I was dealing with a real, family-run business who clearly take pride in the work that they do. Mark even took the time to show me around the shop to show me what he was working on for other clients. This was no faceless corporation, and it felt refreshing. I knew my desk was in good hands with them, and I was certainly not disappointed. In a word, okay, two words, highly recommended!!

Furniture Refinishing
We have a 30 year old cherry dining room table that was starting to show it's age and use with some significant scratches and gouges. Touch Ups Plus picked up our table and completely refinished the table top. They were able to arrange excellent movers and the table looks like new again. They we so easy and professional to deal with in terms of scheduling and completing the work to our schedule.

Pine table refinished
We highly recommend this company for any wood restoration. We had a 25 year old pine table with a lot of scratches and dents. Now after the refinish it looks better than when we bought it. Lynn, Mark and Mike were easy and great to work with, friendly and helpful and with great pricing.

Restoration of a unique 40 year old tableTop
At my wits end over a vintage liquid resin table top cloudy and weatherbeaten. At its best it looked like a shallow tide pool with sand, shells and other artifacts. Repair of extendable dining table
Years ago, we bought an extendable dining table, a beautiful piece of furniture but very heavy, a monster to handle. And then it got stuck, we could not fully close it anymore after removing the leaf from the middle of the table. After quite the search to find someone that would be willing to repair it, I contacted Touch Ups Plus. Lynn was so patient with all my questions and concerns. She provided me with options and a detailed cost for each. I did not want just to close the table, but also to reduce the stiffness of the wood slides to a point that it would make sense to keep the table, without spending a fortune. Mark and Mike came by to assess the situation while they were in the area, and then the repair date was booked. It wasnt easy to get those stuck screws out, but they did not give up on repairing the table on site (it would have cost more to take it to the shop). Then they sanded the slides and lubricated them. My husband could not believe how easy it is now for the 2 of us to open and close the table - comparing it with the past futile struggles of 4 people to close it! Overall, it was a pleasure working with Touch Ups Plus. I would not hesitate to call them for any wood furniture repairs.

Furniture Refinishing
Moving into a new open concept home, our much loved furniture needed repairs and an update. The bedroom set had been passed down through 3 generations. It had been refinished several times professionally (so I thought) but the finish was now cracking. Our maple dining room set I had custom made back in the early 90's. The buffet was once a TV cabinet that I had had remodeled in 2019, after rear projection TV's were a thing of the past. It is not easy to find a good furniture refinisher. Touch Up Plus has turned out to be a gem. They are crazy good and they kept me updated throughout the process. I found them very reasonable, professional and they know their stuff. I will recommend them to all my friends and family.

Kitchen Touch Ups
Just wanted to thank everyone from Touch Ups Plus on the excellent work they did at our house. Mark and Mike retouched our cherry kitchen cabinets and our island as well as installing new braces and sliders for our pull out recycle bins and garbage. They also retouched all of our vanities and our built-in cabinets in our family room. Mark and Mike take pride in their work and I was so fortunate to have found them to do this work. Old school craftsmanship and new world service standards. Lynne is the point of contact, dealing with her was a pleasure. Repair to Mantel Clock
I had a wonderful experience with Touch-Up Plus. I had a mantel clock damaged by a moving company last year. Unfortunately, they did not have it repaired to my satisfaction (a chunk of wood out of the frame not repaired), so I contacted Touch-Up Plus as a result from a simple internet search. From my initial contact with Lynn, to dropping off the clock to Mike and Mark who completed the repairs, it was a supremely satisfying experience. The repair was done in short order and is absolutely perfect. As the clock belonged to my grandparents, it has great sentimental value to me. Touch Ups Plus did a fabulous job refinishing my dining room table top from brown and stained to black to match our décor. Touch Ups Plus checked with us during the process to ensure we got the black finish we wanted. They were exceptionally professional, friendly and skilled. Table Refinishing
I brought a second-hand table to Touch Ups Plus for refinishing and repainting. The table was solid and well-built, but the wood finish was in very bad shape, and we wanted to bring it back to life with a new painted surface. Lynn and her team provided an accurate and fair estimate for costs and timing, and assisted in selecting a paint colour and finish. The finished product exceeded my expectations - the table looks brand new, the paint job is impeccable, and her team even cleaned up and repaired the hardware. We are so pleased with this project, and we will certainly use Touch Ups Plus for similar work in the future.

Kitchen table refinished.
I own my parents 40 yr old maple wood table and I didnt want to buy a new one because it fit my space so well. The top was refinished natural and the legs painted white to match new chairs. It was stained a very dark lacquer and I wanted it lighter. My expectations were met and the guys at Touchups plus did an amazing job!!

Repaired damaged panel
A high-end vanity cabinet had a panel with severe damage - a 2" x 3" corner ripped off, and several nicks and chunks out of it. Where others had said it was beyond repair, and unable to find a company to re-make it, I thankfully found Touch Ups Plus, to carry out this challenging job for us. They replaced the damaged sections, and with colour-matching, re-finished it to look like new. I was amazed. They did an excellent job; you can't tell that it was repaired at all. The result showed true pride of workmanship, which is hard to find these days. On time, at quoted price, and at a far less cost than having to replace the whole vanity. Restoration of Kitchen Cupboards
Our much loved and well used kitchen was renovated 4 years ago and there were a lot of chips and gouges and cracks in the paint finish. Antique Armoire
I had been searching for someone to repair and restore my antique armoire that was in pretty rough shape for a while. From the very first correspondence with Lynn I had a feeling I found the right people! Mark and Mike were very knowledgeable, paid attention to detail and did beautiful work. The doors were very warped, they straightened them out and added new wood panels on the inside. Replaced the back panel and stained it to match. Made new shelves for the inside, also stained to match. My armoire is a puzzle piece that was pretty much falling apart and they rebuilt while still keeping as much of the authenticity as possible. They also refinished the veneer and polished the brass decorative fixtures. Lynn kept me informed of the progress along the way with photos and detailed descriptions. That along with meeting Mike and Mark and seeing how they really love what they do put my mind at ease that my armoire was in good hands. The team at Touch Ups Plus did a marvellous job of refinishing my small chest of drawers. It was an old chest we had inherited with several coats of old paint. Not only did they do a great job of refinished it but they sealed the back, refinished the handles and even fixed the wheels on the bottom. It looks better than I could have imagined. Spoke to Lynn & explained urgency of work, She was kind to fulfill job before deadline. Dropped off kitchen & bathroom cabinets for refurbishing at their shop. Table dissassemble and re-assemble
Touch Ups plus helped me with a tricky job -- taking apart an old wooden table and re-assembling it one floor up! The antique looked as good as new when they re-assembled it, and they installed new screws which make it easy for me to dissassemble it in the future when I move.

Resurfacing damaged cabinet door
Mark fixed a water stained cabinet door. It was a single door that was an eyesore and Mark matched the colour to perfection. You cannot tell a difference between the damaged door and the rest of the door. Mark is a real craftsman and lovely to chat with. He gave me a tour of his workshop and showed me all his wonderful cabinetry refinishing. A true gem, honing his craft since the mid 1970s. If you have a cabinet that needs reworking go to Mark !

Art Deco Vanity Repair & Refinishing
I recently had my antique Art Deco dresser professionally repaired and refinished, and I couldn't be happier!!! I DIY'd it myself several times painted it, changed drawer pulls to knobs and reupholstered the bench. But now the paint was peeling, the bench was destroyed by my cats, some of the drawers didn't even open because of the built up paint. It def needed some professional TLC. And I am thrilled with the result!!! It looks brand new! It is by far my favourite piece of furniture in the condo. Lynn, Mark and Mike (wife, husband, son team) from Touch Ups Plus in Toronto/Aurora were a dream to work with!! Teak Outdoor Furniture
We have two large couches and two large armchairs in addition to side that tables in teak. I love the furniture and view it as an investment. Curio cabinet touch up
My brand new curio cabinet was accidentally damaged. I found Touch Ups Plus on internet and contacted Lynn. She responded promptly and gave me very reasonable quote. Mark came to our house and did the work on the door of my curio. It was a dent about 1 inch long with stain gone and the edge of the door was damaged as well. Mark did a marvelous job! You could not see any damage at all. The stain that Mark put on the door matched perfectly. My curio cabinet looked brand new again! Mark is a very nice and friendly person to deal with and a high professional in his trade. I take this opportunity to thank Mark and Lynn one more time. We contacted this company to enquire about getting our coffee table refinished. Dealt with Lynn at first and then met Mike and Mark. They are all wonderful. They provided excellent customer service. kitchen set and buffet
I had a kitchen table, 6 chairs and a buffet refurnished. They were one of the highest estimates. I said that I wanted it to be the same as the original. It came much later than promised. When it was delivered the kitchen leaf was missing. The finish was not the same as the original, which was very disappointing. There were breaks in the finish on all 4 kitchen legs. Originally, they told me they could send someone out to correct the legs. When I didn't hear from them I emailed them my dissatisfaction. They don't take well to criticism and they don't take responsiblity for their mistakes. I received a nasty email in reply. They asked me to either take another day off work for the corrections to be made or to dismantle the legs and uber them for the corrections to be made. Neither was an option for me. They did uber the table leaf to me but are completely inflexible as to a time for corrections to be made that would not involve me taking more time off work. None of these problems would have occured if they had checked with me before refinishing my furniture differently than the original. They should have given me a heads up that it would take longer than the 4 weeks promised. If my furniture had been inspected before it was sent out and if they had taken some care to ensure my leaf was sent out with the rest of the furniture. All these problems could have been prevented. I don't recommend this company. I am disappointed with my furniture.

Coffee Table
I had a large water stain on my solid oak coffee table and Touch Up Plus refinished the table and made it look brand new. Im so pleased with the work fromTouch Up Plus. The service from Lynn, Mark and Mike was super. I would highly recommend Touch Up Plus.

Refinishing Furniture
After years of wear and tear from children and pets, I decided to get my very worn desk, dining table and kitchen chairs re-finished. I contacted Touch Ups Plus and am so glad I did. Communication was excellent. Lynn kept me up to date re timing, and spent a lot of time with me explaining the different finish options. The result was even better. Everything looks better than it did originally - and in particular, what Touch Ups Plus was able to do with my badly scratched desk is amazing. I would definitely use them again and highly, highly recommend.

Antique chairs repair.

Queen Anne Desk Restoration
I needed to have my Queen Anne desk restored. Found Lynn, Mark and Mike here on Homestars. The quality of work done is exceptional. Additionally, dealing with Lynn and Mark was always a pleasure. They were professional and their communication was excellent throughout the whole process. I felt as if I was dealing with a real, family-run business who clearly take pride in the work that they do. Mark even took the time to show me around the shop to show me what he was working on for other clients. This was no faceless corporation, and it felt refreshing. Furniture Refinishing
We have a 30 year old cherry dining room table that was starting to show it's age and use with some significant scratches and gouges. Touch Ups Plus picked up our table and completely refinished the table top. They were able to arrange excellent movers and the table looks like new again. They we so easy and professional to deal with in terms of scheduling and completing the work to our schedule.

Lynn was amazing on the phone and set it all up and completely understood what I was looking for. Her son Mike came to do the repair and restored the 18 yr old unit like new. Would totally recommend.

Pine table refinished
We highly recommend this company for any wood restoration. We had a 25 year old pine table with a lot of scratches and dents. Now after the refinish it looks better than when we bought it. Lynn, Mark and Mike were easy and great to work with, friendly and helpful and with great pricing.

Refinish coffee tables
My furniture is over 30 years old and has been through a lot of moves, plus my dog ate a piece of the top edge. So, I was expecting it would come back with the scratches polished out. What I got was a beautiful finish, looking better than new coffee table and end table. The dog bite was gone too. It was worth every penny. Lynn has been amazing - quick with a quote, quick with answers. Incredible service, expertise/knowledge and all round fantastic and KIND

We had an old, antique table we brought up from the Caribbean that had been varnished, with a cracked leg and in desperate need of some TLC. Lynn, Mark and Mike were an incredible team and just so LOVELY to work with This antique table had been in my husband's family for several generations and had a lot of sentimental value. Lynn was incredible from the very beginning, understanding what we wanted to do, going so far above and beyond to clarify any changes they were making and ensure it was what we wanted. She helped ensure Mark and Mike could execute what we were hoping for. Because of the age and the origin of the table (Caribbean)- there ended up being a lot of unknowns once the varnish was removed, and Lynn and Mark problem solved and did everything they could to help us get what we hoped for. I'm one of those annoying people who ask way too many questions and Lynn never got impatient and helped me learn so much about finishing wood and furniture. Having the pleasure of Touch Ups Plus refinish our table was probably one of the best experiences I've ever had with a company. I don't know how they keep their energy and passion while ALSO doing such an incredible job, but I am VERY grateful to have met them. I should also mention- I had done 3 quotes for this job through homestars and Touch Ups Plus were by far THE most competitive pricing wise. In the end we ended up: - stripping and refinishing the table - increasing the height - splitting it so that the table top can be separated from the pedestal (to make it easier to move in the future- to get it into our current home we had to bring it in over the balcony as one solid piece) - fixing a cracked leg - polished/replaced the brass coverings on the pedestal leg and replaced the wood beneath which had crumbled from age - stabilized the table (it was shaky before) I've attached photos to show what the top looked like before and after. As well as the pedestal once they were done with it. Keep in mind they could have done a variety of stains, etc, we just chose this because we loved the rich colour. Furniture Refinishing

Moving into a new open concept home, our much loved furniture needed repairs and an update. The bedroom set had been passed down through 3 generations. It had been refinished several times professionally (so I thought) but the finish was now cracking. Our maple dining room set I had custom made back in the early 90's. The buffet was once a TV cabinet that I had had remodeled in 2019, after rear projection TV's were a thing of the past. It is not easy to find a good furniture refinisher. Touch Up Plus has turned out to be a gem. They are crazy good and they kept me updated throughout the process. I found them very reasonable, professional and they know their stuff. I will recommend them to all my friends and family.

Kitchen Touch Ups

Just wanted to thank everyone from Touch Ups Plus on the excellent work they did at our house. Mark and Mike retouched our cherry kitchen cabinets and our island as well as installing new braces and sliders for our pull out recycle bins and garbage. They also retouched all of our vanities and our built-in cabinets in our family room. Mark and Mike take pride in their work and I was so fortunate to have found them to do this work. It was also great working with Lynn who made things very easy in scheduling the work. I strongly recommend you use Touch Ups Plus!

Repair to Mantel Clock

I had a wonderful experience with Touch-Up Plus. I had a mantel clock damaged by a moving company last year. Unfortunately, they did not have it repaired to my satisfaction (a chunk of wood out of the frame not repaired), so I contacted Touch-Up Plus as a result from a simple internet search. From my initial contact with Lynn, to dropping off the clock to Mike and Mark who completed the repairs, it was a supremely satisfying experience. The repair was done in short order and is absolutely perfect. As the clock belonged to my grandparents, it has great sentimental value to me. Chair Repair

Chair leg badly broken right off. Touch Ups Plus did an amazing job repairing it just like new again. You can't even tell it was broken. Can't speak highly enough about their work and service.
